Ieva Maurīte
Ieva Maurīte's main means of expression is a balanced, thoughtful line. Her art is recognizable by a clearly readable style in acrylic paintings, where symbolic figures are simply and accurately drawn with a black or white fine line on an even, smooth, monochrome background. Outlines of a cow, human face oval, dog, house, waves, mountains, angels, stars or whatever. The figures levitate as if in immateriality, and their separation from material reality is determined by some metaphysical reason. Over the years, Ieva Maurīte has developed a certain system of images, which manifests mainly not objects, but different moods, which, due to the coincidence of circumstances, materialize in various objects and beings. Emotionally, these works are very different - from extreme, perhaps even frivolous joy to transcendental sadness. Eve's intuitive line is able to express what can usually be afforded, such as music or poetry. (Arnis Martinelli)
