Marta Leimane

Marta Leimanes paintings are saturated with tonal solutions. She believes that in painting, tone and stroke have a value of their own and do not need to carry over into images to tell a story. She finds themes at instinct level and lead process of painting intuitively without pre-prepared sketches. When the compositions on the canvas balances with the inner feeling, the painting is complete. This is that harmony that she wants to convey to the viewer. Marta Leimane studied art at the University of Latvia, participated in several group exhibitions, as well as realized two solo exhibitions in the ANDALŪZIJAS SUNS restaurant "Reflections" (2023), in the BUBERTS cafe with the changing exhibition "Neighbourhood " (2022-2023).
